UV and Fade Protection Window Film for Floors, Furniture and Art

Homes with hardwood, luxury vinyl, rugs, leather furniture, art or collections near glass.

The short answer

Quality architectural window film blocks up to 99% of ultraviolet light, the single largest contributor to fading in floors, fabrics and artwork. It also reduces some of the visible light and heat that cause the rest of the damage.

What actually causes fading

Fading is caused by ultraviolet light, visible light and heat, with UV doing the most damage. That is why a rug looks fine under the couch and bleached where the sun lands. Window film addresses all three factors, with its biggest single effect on UV.

  • Blocks up to 99% of UVA and UVB at the window
  • Reduces the visible light and solar heat that also contribute to fading
  • Available in nearly clear films if you don't want a visible change

You can get it without darkening the room

UV rejection isn't tied to how dark a film looks. Nearly clear films block essentially the same UV as dark ones, so if your goal is protecting a floor rather than cutting glare, you can treat the glass with very little visual change.

Where it matters most

South- and west-facing rooms, sunrooms, entry areas with large sidelights, and any room where new flooring or expensive furniture sits in direct sun. If you're about to put in new hardwood, filming first is significantly cheaper than refinishing later.

Common questions

+Does window film block UV rays?

Yes. The architectural films we install block up to 99% of ultraviolet light at the glass.

+How do I stop my hardwood floors from fading?

Reduce what reaches the floor. UV blocking window film on the windows facing the affected area is the most direct fix because it works permanently and doesn't require closing anything.

+Will film completely stop fading?

No product stops fading entirely — visible light and heat still play a role. Film substantially slows it by removing the largest cause.
