Industrial buildings put their offices and break rooms where the glass is, then cool them with a single unit that cannot keep up in August. Film on that glazing takes a substantial share of the solar load out before the system has to deal with it, which is far cheaper than adding tonnage to a rooftop unit.

Glare, safety and shift work

Low sun through dock-door glazing and mezzanine windows puts glare exactly where forklift traffic crosses. Cutting it reduces a real hazard. On the mezzanine or the QC bench, less glare means fewer mistakes and fewer complaints from people staring at a screen all shift.
